A box taper belt or case sealer belt are terms for belts that transport boxes through automatic taping machines.

Box taper machines, also known as case sealer machines, are compact units that convey packed cartons or boxes and automatically apply adhesive tape to seal them shut.

These machines are ideal for companies with high output of cardboard box packaging, saving significant time.

High-grip surface conveyor belts are used to move boxes through the machine. Various designs are available, with belts contacting either the sides of a box or the underside. The preferred belt type is known as “Grip Top,” usually made from PU or PVC. PVC is more cost-effective and provides more grip, but it wears out faster. PU extends the belt’s lifespan.

Installing a box sealer belt is straightforward and typically done by machine operators. Belts come with a mechanical fastener and metal pin to connect the ends. Releasing tension allows easy removal and replacement.

Many grip top belts for this application include a tracking guide on the underside, known as the driven side. V-guides are thermally bonded using a hot air gun and a specially prepared surface.
