UHMW TAPES

UHMW tapes are made from polyethylene (ultra high molecular weight) it is ideally suited for applications where a low coefficient of friction is required and no real temperature is involved.

UHMW Tapes – Applications

The tapes we supply at Techbelt can be used as an abrasion-resistant, anti-stick, anti-friction surface at temperatures up to 82°C. Techbelt UHMW tape is frequently used to line chutes and conveyors.

This is often applied to guide rails to reduce noise levels in places such as bottling plants. UHMW tape is also used to replace desk drawer bearings to provide silky smooth, friction-free drawer movement.

Ideally suited for surfaces where low friction is required in an arduous environment.

They exhibit excellent abrasion resistance and it has a low coefficient of friction, making it an excellent protector for surfaces or bearings that experience heavy wear.

The high-temperature, high-tack rubber adheres readily to most dry, clean surfaces, firmly anchoring the product in place.

1. UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) polyolefin film coated with rubber

3. Easy cleaning – can be wiped with a damp cloth
4. Low friction coefficient: 0.11 – 0.25; depending on load and surface speed
5. Lightweight and energy efficient for economical operation

Tapes are available from 10mm to 610mm wide x 33 metre long rolls.

Ex stock with next day dispatch or same day dispatch if ordered before 1.00pm on a given day.

There are two tape thicknesses that we offer from stock.

They have nominal thicknesses of 0.13mm and 0.25mm. our UHMW tapes are supplied with a flat blue release liner which serves to protect the adhesive.
