Edging the belt provides further stability and strength to the belt as its used under continuous use. There are many different types of edgings available using kevlar, teflon, studs, cords, films or eyelets.
There is a simple rule applied to conveyor belts running over rollers and pulleys. This is that a conveyor belt moves in the direction of the roll or idler it contacts first.
