PTFE mesh conveyor belting is an open-weave belt manufactured from fibreglass, Kevlar, or Nomex coated in polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The open mesh construction allows air, heat, UV, and infrared radiation to pass freely through the belt during conveying — making it the standard belt type for drying, curing, and heat-processing lines.
Techbelt manufactures PTFE mesh belts to order in glass fibre, Kevlar, and Nomex substrates, in aperture sizes from 1×1mm up to 10×10mm. Belts are supplied in standard brown or antistatic black, fitted with a metallic clipper-type fastener as standard for quick on-machine removal. Custom widths, lengths, and joining methods available. UK manufactured, shipped worldwide.
Glass fibre (GM series) — the most common belt substrate. Available in apertures from 1×1mm to 10×10mm and widths up to 3,650mm. Antistatic carbon-loaded black grades are available across the range for ESD-sensitive environments.
Kevlar and Aramid (KM/KG series) — higher tensile strength than glass fibre; up to 5,300 N/5cm on the KG-155 hybrid grade. Specified where belts run under higher tension, at wider widths, or where longer belt life is required. KG-155 is available up to 5,000mm wide and can be supplied with pin joint construction for easy on-machine fitting.
Nomex (NM-19) — heavy 1.90mm construction with 64% open area. Used in demanding drying environments where a thick, stable belt structure is required. Rated to 220°C; the belt must remain running during oven heat-up and cool-down.
| Substrate | Aperture range | Max width | Temp range | Max tensile | Antistatic | Food |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Glass fibre | 1×1mm – 10×10mm | 3,650mm | -73 to +260°C | 3,600 N/5cm | ✓ (multiple grades) | ✓ (most grades) |
| Kevlar / Aramid | Square – 4×4mm | 5,000mm | Up to 260°C * | 5,300 N/5cm | No | ✓ (most grades) |
| Nomex | 3×3mm | — | -73 to +220°C | 3,000 N/5cm | No | ✓ |
* Kevlar grade temperature varies: KM-82-NA and KM-100-NA rated to 220°C; KM-90-NA to 240°C; KG-155-NA to 260°C. Confirm grade before specifying.
Belts are made to your required width and length. Standard clipper fastener is included; pin joint construction is available on KG-155-NA. To order, contact the technical sales team with your machine make, model, and current belt dimensions — or use the product listings above to select a standard stock width.
