PTFE Belts For Textiles

We have a wide range of PTFE Belts for Textiles

Garment and Composite Lamination Belt

The process of lamination with dual PTFE coated fabrics is a technique used to thermally bond two or more layers of materials together.

The adhesive, prior to heat processing, is applied as a powder to the surface of one fabric.

A second layer is introduces on top which sandwiches the adhesive powder in between the fabric layers.

Textiles for use as clothing and garments can be bonded together by means of thermally activated adhesives.

Other industries, such as aerospace, use similar systems due to the high pressures and heat that can be achieved through PTFE coated belts.

The automotive industry has a requirement to laminate head liner cover, carpet compounds and car seat coverings. This is a handful of examples where the non-stick properties of PTFE play an important part in their production.

For more industrialised applications, honey combed materials used in boat building and acoustic systems for buildings would require a heavier duty type of laminating machine. Wider and heavier duty PTFE coated fabric belts are used which are designed for stability.

Textile Drying and Relaxation Belt

Woven cottons used for shirts and other clothing garments are woven and then dyed to requirement. Once the materials have finished through this process they are then dried through a hot air distribution system. These are more commonly referred to as textile dryers.

Within the textile drying industry, three tier belts systems are generally used to give time for the product to dry. This means the ovens can be kept shorter in length to save space.

The type of belts on these dryer are a PTFE coated fabric mesh type. Generally they have a 4mm square opening for optimum airflow. The PTFE coated belt will resist heat up to 260°C and provide non-stick properties which are essential.

Non-woven Fabric Conveyor Belt

Non-wovens such as polyesters are laminated together using heat and pressure between 2 opposing PTFE coated mesh fabric belts. The materials are used to manufacture inners for pillows and duvets and can vary in thickness and density. This is determined by the end users requirement.

Achieving different thicknesses is done by adjusting the distance between the PTFE fabric conveyor belts.
