How to make a butt joint on a blue PTFE conveyor belt
This video show how to do a very basic butt joint weld on a PTFE conveyor belt.
This method can be used on all kinds of PTFE belting and on a variety of thicknesses.
The video shows the joint being made on an A4 sheet. This is very easy and quick to do in the workshop. If this type of joint is made when on the machine then extra time and care should be employed. It is critical the there are no gaps between the two ends of the belt being joined together. When on a machine it is normal to hold the ends of the belts together using Tefsil tape. Tefsil tape is a high temperature resistant material.
