PTFE Belt Welding Iron

The PTFE Belt Welding Iron is a portable, high-temperature welding iron designed for efficient jointing, and repair of PTFE conveyor belts. Engineered for industrial maintenance environments, this PTFE iron provides controlled heat application to create strong, consistent welds on PTFE-coated fabrics, reducing belt downtime and extending operational life.

Designed for both on-site and workshop use, the welding iron is widely used in manufacturing, food processing, packaging, textiles, and material handling operations where PTFE conveyor belts are critical to production continuity.

High-Temperature, Controlled Welding

The PTFE Belt Welding Iron operates at temperatures up to approximately 380°C, providing sufficient thermal energy for reliable PTFE bonding. A separate temperature control unit allows precise heat adjustment, supporting consistent weld quality across belt joints, patches, and edge repairs. This level of control is essential for maintaining joint integrity without damaging belt substrates.

Portable and Operator-Friendly Design

Lightweight and ergonomically designed, the Teflon iron is easy to handle during repetitive maintenance tasks. Its portable format enables technicians to perform belt repairs directly on installed conveyors, avoiding belt removal and reducing production stoppages. A heat-resistant stand supports safe placement when the iron is not in use, improving workshop and site safety.

Durable Construction for Industrial Use

Manufactured from heat-resistant, industrial-grade materials, the PTFE welding iron is built for frequent use in demanding environments. The robust construction ensures stable performance across repeated heating cycles while maintaining consistent temperature delivery during welding operations.

Typical Applications:

  • PTFE conveyor belt joint welding during installation
  • On-site belt repair and patch welding
  • Edge sealing of PTFE-coated fabrics
  • Maintenance of non-stick, heat-resistant conveyor systems

Operational Benefits

Using a dedicated PTFE Belt Welding Iron allows maintenance teams to complete repairs quickly and accurately, minimizing downtime and reducing long-term belt replacement costs. Controlled heat application improves weld repeatability, helping maintain belt performance in continuous production environments.

This Teflon welding iron is an essential maintenance tool for any operation running PTFE conveyor belts and requiring reliable, professional-grade belt joining and repair capability.

These are the same welding irons we use in house for manufacturing so we’re confident they can get the job done.

Description

Applications

The HWI 155 is used for two primary tasks:

Belt joint welding — making finger or butt joints on PTFE-coated glass fibre conveyor belts, including joints completed on the machine without removing the belt from the conveyor system.

On-machine patch repairs — welding repair patches to belts that have sustained localised damage, restoring belt integrity and extending service life without production downtime.

The iron operates via a separate Jumo temperature controller, allowing precise temperature setting throughout a working day. The unit can be left on standby between welds safely.
