Round Baler Belts: A Buying Guide for Round Baler Operators

Techbelt has been manufacturing replacement round baler belts at our UK facility for over 20 years, supplying farmers and contractors in more than 30 countries. All our baler belts are 3-ply construction with a textured top surface for grip and a heavy-duty reinforcement layer for strength under continuous flexing around rollers.

Our belts are made to fit a wide range of round baler machines, including New Holland, Claas, Vermeer, Welger, Case IH, Massey Ferguson, Fendt and John Deere (John Deere available by special order — see below).

Every belt is hand-cut and made to order at our facility, fitted with a MATO clipper fastener, with most orders dispatched within 5–7 days.

Finding the right belt for your machine

Use the links below to go straight to the fitment page for your baler brand. Each page lists the specific models and sizes we supply for that range.

Can’t find your machine listed? Contact us with your current belt’s size and we can make a belt to match.

Checking your belt size before you order

Before ordering a replacement, measure your current belt:

  • Thickness: our belts are supplied between 5.2mm and 5.6mm. Check your current belt’s thickness before ordering — if it doesn’t match, we’d recommend not purchasing, as made-to-order belts can’t be refunded once manufactured.
  • Width and length: measured belt-flat, not around the roller.
  • Fastener type: our belts are supplied with a MATO clipper fastener, one of the most widely used systems for round baler belts. When fitting, the fastener must be joined with both ends perfectly parallel and aligned, and the belt must not be over-tensioned — both are common causes of premature belt failure, tracking issues, or bowing.

Round vs. square baler belts

Round balers and square balers use different belting — round baler belts are typically polyester, nylon or polypropylene-based and run continuously around the bale chamber, while square baler belts work differently within the baling chamber. If you’re not sure which type your machine needs, or want more detail on belt types, construction and maintenance, see our Ultimate Guide to Baler Belting.

How do I know when my baler belt needs replacing?

There are several signs to watch for. Visible cracking or dry rot, fraying edges, cuts and
gouges are the clearest physical indicators. During use, a belt that starts slipping on the
machine, or that has stretched, is also a sign it needs replacing. If one belt in a set is
tracking incorrectly, it can affect the others in the set, so it’s worth checking all belts
together. A belt with a lot of splices has multiple weak points that could fail at any time —
the same applies if the fasteners themselves are damaged. On the bale side, misshapen or
loose bales and uneven feeding can also point to worn or failing belts.

What thickness are Techbelt's round baler belts?

All our round baler belts are supplied between 5.2mm and 5.6mm thick. Always check your
existing belt’s thickness before ordering, as we cannot offer refunds on made-to-order belts.

How long does delivery take?

Most round baler belts are hand-cut and made to order at our UK facility, with dispatch
typically within 5–7 days.

Can you make a belt for a machine that isn't listed?

Yes — if your machine isn’t listed on our brand pages, contact us with your current belt’s
size and specification and we can manufacture a belt to match.

Do you supply John Deere baler belts?

Yes, by special order. We supply a diamond-texture top belt similar to the OEM part, in roll
form or with a mechanical clipped fastener.
